“…A negative correlation was found between albumin level and brief arousal index and PLM in all the studied groups (r ¼ À0.6607, p50.0001 and r ¼ À0.581, p50.0001), respectively. These results were in agreement with the results of other investigators 12,13 who found that hypoalbuminemia reported to be associated with disturbed sleep insomnia and RLS. In our study there was positive correlation between Hb level and sleep efficiency and total sleep time in all the studied groups (r ¼ 0.371, p ¼ 0.0003 and r ¼ 0.531, p50.0001) respectively, but a negative correlation was found between Hb level and brief arousal index and PLM (r ¼ À0.543, p50.0001 and r ¼ À0.5087, p50.0001), respectively.…”

“…45 Likewise we also found significant positive correlation of protein energy wasting with Beck Depression Inventory scores. However, protein intake was positively associated with perceived stress in our study.…”

“…Depending on these findings we think that depression and poor sleep quality are closely associated with inflammatory conditions and malnutrition. In fact, in previous studies it was reported that higher malnutrition-inflammation scores were associated with the presence of moderate-to-severe depression and poor sleep and life quality in hemodialysis patients (26) patients who are good sleepers (21,22). We did not find such a relationship between sleep quality and hemoglobin, PTH, calcium, or phosphorus values.…”
