The present work is an experience report provided by the Multiprofessional Residency in Health carried out in a Complexo Hospitalar Universitário Federal in the state of Pará, with the objective of descriptively tracing the work of hospital psychology in the Respiratory System Unit in care for people living or going to live with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). The methodology used is exploratory, with a qualitative approach, with the purpose of describing an observation/reflection experienced and performed by the author. When the patient receives the diagnosis of chronic lung disease, which involves significant changes to the dynamics of his life The subject with IPF needs to be understood, listened to and validated as a singularity so that it is possible to provide a multidisciplinary care that can be experienced and understood as humanized.
