“…Our experiments are some of the first, to our knowledge, that explored the generational effect of HFD in the P and F1 generations on pregnancy outcomes in the F1 offspring using animal models. Such studies might provide rationale for clinicians to ascertain a woman's metabolic status not only during her own pregnancy but previous pregnancies in her family, which could direct dietary and/or exercise regimens to prevent complications associated with increasing obesity in pregnant women [33][34][35].…”

“…Knowing which factors are directly linked to this process contributes to the guidance of the actions of health professionals aiming at the awareness and elimination of these factors and thus being able to have a better gestational period, besides the delivery and postpartum period for both mother and baby. Caption: 1 Of the seven articles that found association with prepregnancy weight, three 14,19,21 have large effect magnitude and one 17 has very large magnitude, with CI precision around the effect; 2 Of the seven articles that found association with prepregnancy weight, five 3,15,16,17,21 overestimate the effect; 3 Only one 3 of the three studies show large magnitude of effect; 4 Of the three studies, only two 3,15 were able to classify the confounding factors, with one 3 underestimating the effect and the other 15 overestimating it; 5 The classification of confounding factors for this variable was inconclusive because it was possible to classify only one study 17 ; 6 The classification of confounding factors for this variable was inconclusive because one study underestimated 21 the effect and another overestimated 17 ; 7 The classification of confounding factors for this variable was inconclusive because it was only possible to classify one study 17 ;…”

“…En la literatura se identifica alta prevalencia de obesidad y sobrepeso en la población. La muestra estudiada revela la importancia de la obesidad como problema de salud desde dos perspectivas, primero, por tratarse de una población joven en la que cabría esperar un mejor estado de salud y, segundo, por tratarse de una ción gestante en la que se el embarazo se concibiera como un acto planificado, para el que la mujer se prepara desde el punto de vista psicológico y físico entre otros (6,7,15) .…”
