Abstract:Obesity, hyperlipidemia, and truncal adiposity concordantly elevate cardiovascular disease risks, but have unknown genetic effects on blood trait variation. Using Mendelian randomization, we define unexpectedly opposing roles for generalized obesity and truncal adiposity on blood traits.
