“…Therefore, if the line is not symmetric the mea- surement can be either blue-or redshifted with respect to the minimum. Measurements of the asymmetry of the KI7699Å line made by LoPresto, Kraus & Pierce (1994) and Bonet et al (1988) show that, at between 30 and 60% of the residual intensity, it is blueshifted at the centre of the Sun, while close to the limb it is centred or even redshifted with respect to the minimum. Using integral sunlight, Roca Cortés, Vázquez & Wöhl (1983) find that the wings are blueshifted by ≈ 50 ± 30 m s −1 with respect to the minimum.…”
