Obstructive Sleep Apnea: A Case Report

Abstract: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is characterized by repeated episodes of upper airway blockage and collapse during sleep accompanied by awakenings with or without oxygen desaturations. During obstructive sleep apnea events, the oropharynx in the back of the throat compresses, causing arousal, oxygen desaturation, or both, leading to fragmented sleep.
