Behçet's disease (BD) is a multi-systemic vasculitis characterized by a triad made up of oral aphthosis, genital aphthosis and uveitis which may or may not be associated with visceral involvement. Other times described in the ancient silk road, BD is increasingly found in countries south of the Sahara with the mixing of populations. Our objective was to describe the epidemiology and clinical characteristics of BD in an African country. Methodology: This was a five-year retrospective study in the internal medicine department of Donka National Hospital. We used international criteria finding BD. Urinary dipstick was use for finding kidney disease. Result: During the period, five cases of Behçet's disease were collected. The average age was 35 years old. The male sex was more represented with 3 out of 5 cases. The most common clinical manifestation was oral aphthosis in all patients (100%), followed by genital aphthosis in 4 cases (80%). The other clinical manifestations observed were uveitis in 3 cases (60%), joint manifestations such as arthralgia in 3 cases (60%) and neurological manifestations such as chronic headache in one case (20%). HLA-B51 was found in two cases. The pattergic test done in two patients came back positive (100%). The patients received colchicine and oral corticosteroid therapy. Two patients were lost to sight. We deplored a death probably in a neuro-Behçet table before the rebellious headaches. Conclusion: Behçet's disease is a multi-systemic vasculitis that must be evoked and managed quickly in a tropical environment, especially since the prognosis, vital and functional prognosis can be engaged.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) remains one of the world’s frequent eye illnesses, leading to vision loss among working-aged individuals. Hemorrhages and exudates are examples of signs of DR. However, artificial intelligence (AI), particularly deep learning (DL), is poised to impact nearly every aspect of human life and gradually transform medical practice. Insight into the condition of the retina is becoming more accessible thanks to major advancements in diagnostic technology. AI approaches can be used to assess lots of morphological datasets derived from digital images in a rapid and noninvasive manner. Computer-aided diagnosis tools for automatic detection of DR early-stage signs will ease the pressure on clinicians. In this work, we apply two methods to the color fundus images taken on-site at the Cheikh Zaïd Foundation’s Ophthalmic Center in Rabat to detect both exudates and hemorrhages. First, we apply the U-Net method to segment exudates and hemorrhages into red and green colors, respectively. Second, the You Look Only Once Version 5 (YOLOv5) method identifies the presence of hemorrhages and exudates in an image and predicts a probability for each bounding box. The segmentation proposed method obtained a specificity of 85%, a sensitivity of 85%, and a Dice score of 85%. The detection software successfully detected 100% of diabetic retinopathy signs, the expert doctor detected 99% of DR signs, and the resident doctor detected 84%.

Purpose Behcet's disease is an immune-mediated condition which can commonly have ocular involvement. We present a case of Behcet's associated neuroretinitis, which is a rare ocular manifestation of Behcet's disease. Observations The patient experienced significant improvement in her neuroretinitis without initiation of treatment. After 28 days of observation there was spontaneous resolution of exam findings and return of Snellen visual acuity to 20/20. Conclusionand Importance There are only two other cases reported in the literature of Behcet's associated neuroretinitis. Both cases report bilateral involvement with concomitant frosted branch angiitis. This is also the only reported case with spontaneous resolution of abnormal exam findings with return to 20/20 visual acuity. This case highlights the complexity of ocular involvement in Behcet's disease.
