Abstract:In this paper, we investigate when the Euclidean norm is a quadratic Lyapunov function for linear dynamic equations, and use this result to determine the existence of a stabilizing switching pattern for switched systems comprised of normal subsystem matrices. We then expand these results to establish sufficient conditions for the existence of common quadratic Lyapunov functions other than the Euclidean norm for switched systems comprised of normal matrices.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
