Abstract:Increased global trade has led to a surge in the introduction of non-indigenous species (NIS) worldwide. Ships, particularly merchant vessels and recreational yachts, act as vectors for these invasions by transporting NIS in ballast water or as hull fouling. This study investigates the introduction of new fouling NIS in the North Adriatic Sea.
