Abstract: Decay properties of t4SgTb derived from 7-spectroscopic investigations are presented with emphasis on the implied modifications of the hitherto accepted decay scheme.

“…The strong y-ray cascade of 1,079 and 785 keV does not offer unambiguous information, since 1-as well as 2 + yields mixed multipolarities for the 1,079-keV transition. However, the 590-489-785keV triple cascade [18], although much weaker, may be used to select the right probability: if the 1,864-keV level had U =1-, then the 590-keV transition (connecting 1-with 3-) would be pure E2. For the 590-489 keV and 590-785 keV cascades we calculate then the was calculated as a function of the mixing ratio using the tabulation of Taylor et al [15].…”

“…However, spectra obtained in coincidence with other transitions in 148Gd showed, that a partial revision of the decay scheme of 148Tb would be appropriate. This aspect is treated elsewhere [18]. The relative y-ray intensities from the coincidence measurements relevant for the Qzc determinations are given in Table 1.…”

“…After the latter have been published, Tidemand-Petersson [4] measured 67 V rays following the decay of 14SgTb. A decay scheme was proposed with 56 "r rays accomodated among 26 levels up to 4069 keV in 14SGd.…”

“…The decay scheme of 60 min 14SgTb (I" = 2-) proposed on the basis of our results and of the data available in the literature [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] is presented in Table 3. The levels in 14SGd up to 4068 keV are based on our 7-7 coincidence data and those published in Refs.…”
