On the beta decay of148gTb

Abstract

Decay properties of t4SgTb derived from 7-spectroscopic investigations are presented with emphasis on the implied modifications of the hitherto accepted decay scheme.

Decay energies of the low-spin states of147Tb and148Tb

“…The strong y-ray cascade of 1,079 and 785 keV does not offer unambiguous information, since 1-as well as 2 + yields mixed multipolarities for the 1,079-keV transition. However, the 590-489-785keV triple cascade [18], although much weaker, may be used to select the right probability: if the 1,864-keV level had U =1-, then the 590-keV transition (connecting 1-with 3-) would be pure E2. For the 590-489 keV and 590-785 keV cascades we calculate then the was calculated as a function of the mixing ratio using the tabulation of Taylor et al [15].…”

Decay of 60 min 148Tb
