KHP exhibits pyroelectric, piezoelectric, elastic, nonlinear optical (NLO) properties, elasto-optic [3] and electro-optical studies on a sequence of alkali substituted hydrogen phthalate crystals which included it [4] and it crystallizes in an orthorhombic crystal structure with space group Pca2 1 [5].
