Abstract:Hyperferroelectrics are observing a growing interest thanks to their unique property to retain a spontaneous polarization even in presence of a depolarizing field, corresponding to zero macroscopic displacement field (D = 0) conditions. Hyperferroelectricity is ascribed to the softening of a polar LO mode, but the microscopic mechanisms behind this softening are not totally resolved. Here, by means of phonon calculations and force constants analysis, performed in two class of hyperferroelectrics, the ABO3-LiNb… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
