On the spin assignment to the 268 keV state in Au197

Abstract

Abstract. It is shown that the recent internal conversion data favour the I= 1/2 value if the penetration effects in M 1 conversion are fully taken into account. The 191 keV transition is found to be an M 1 + E0 mixture with 41 (2)~o E 0, although the measured K conversion coefficient is smaller than the theoretical flK (M 1) value.
