Abstract:Heat transfer in porous materials is of great importance for various natural, biological and industrial processes. For the large difference between the microscopic and macroscopic dimensions, the volume averaging method (VAM) has been developed to obtain apparent thermal conductivity at the macroscopic level for the microscopic temperature and flow distributions, which can be calculated from the pore-scale simulations. In this article, we perform analysis on the influence of different representative element vo… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
