Abstract:Focusing on Teresa de Lauretis' invention of and interventions in queer theory, this essay crafts a narrative of queer theory, both to orient the reader to some of the key ideas, questions, and themes that constitute queer theory, and to highlight disagreements about how to tell the story of queer theory's content, development, and focus.
