Abstract: CD44 is a cancer stem cell marker and is aberrantly overexpressed in cancer stem/progenitor cells of malignant tumors. Overexpression of CD44 promotes carcinogenesis and is closely associated with poor prognosis in cancer patients, including pancreatic cancer.
