Abstract:We report on a one-step process to produce value-added organic chemicals via deoxygenation of pentanediol (PeD) over HZSM-5 at temperatures between 325 and 450 °C and atmospheric pressure. The conversion efficiency of PeD to petroleum gas (C 2 −C 5 ) and aromatics (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes) reached up to 94% (carbon yield); we observed minimal CO, CO 2 , and coke production. Furthermore, the carbon yield to the desired products remained near 91.5% with a steady product distribution for 40 h.… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
