Open string with a backgroundBfield as the first order mechanics, noncommutativity, and soldering formalism

Abstract: To study noncommutativity properties of the open string with constant B-field we construct a mechanical action which reproduces classical dynamics of the string sector under consideration. It allows one to apply the Dirac quantization procedure for constrained systems in a direct and unambiguous way. The mechanical action turns out to be the first order system without taking the strong field limit B −→ ∞. In particular, it is true for zero mode of the string coordinate which means that the noncommutativity is … Show more

“…We will use the Noether formalism to recover its gauge invariance. Namely, to obtain a dual action that is gauge invariant, the Noether formalism was used recently in the QFT interference phenomena, string theory and issues about braneworld scenarios, duality and Lorentz invariance violation [17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25].…”

“…In this present coordinates the complete boundary corresponds just to the region ω = ω. On the other hand, the action (5) along with equation of motion (10) in terms of ω, ω has still the same form, while the form of BCs are slightly altered:…”

“…Noncommutative(NC) theories has a long history in physics [1] and has kindled a lot of interest in the past few years owing to the inspiration from string theory [2,3]. Recent progress in string theory indicates that an open string moving in the presence of a background Neveu-Schwarz two form field B µν , leads to a NC structure [4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11]. This structure manifests in the noncommutativity in the space-time coordinates of D-branes, where the end points of the open string are attached.…”

“…In this way, it is natural to consider noncommutativity as one of the main ingredients of the quantum gravity investigation. However, this noncommutativity in the context of the string theory with a constant background magnetic field in the presence of D-branes was elucidated constructing a mechanical system which reproduces the classical dynamics of strings [2]. This motivated the concept that a quantum field theory on NC spacetimes can be realized as a low energy of the theory of open strings.…”
