The main goal of the study is to assess the decision criteria and the determining factors for the sustainability of entrepreneurial startups in order to contribute towards social inclusion and capacity building. Both concepts are in the development phase and are the outcome of entrepreneurial ecosystem and individual behavior and traits. The current study observed the research problem as entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial startups are the continuous phenomena required for every economy. The lack of an efficient ecosystem and incompetent trait of an entrepreneur brings the entrepreneurial startup to failure. Therefore, an assessment of decision criteria and determining factors categorizing them by their importance may provide the requirements to lead to a successful entrepreneurial startup, contributing to social inclusion and capacity building. The study solved the research problem by statistical assessment of decision criteria and determining factors and categorizing them by their importance may provide the requirements to lead to a successful entrepreneurial startup. The research is built on research questions, objectives, a conceptual model, and a hypothesis, which are tested based on the data collected. The collection of data was done through a survey questionnaire on a sample of established entrepreneurs. The study concludes that the five components of decision criteria are region, competition, funding opportunities, tax system, and country economic situation, whereas eight determining factors, consciousness and reliability, pursuit of results, flexibility, stress resistance, skills of identification and exploitation of potential market opportunities, leadership, creativity and innovation, and delegation of decision-making, are required for a successful entrepreneurial startup to be able to work towards social inclusion and capacity building.

This study seeks to investigate the entrepreneurial perceptions among the students regarding their professional careers analyzing macro, micro and entrepreneurial education factors in Latvia, including the analysis of gender differences. The research is based on the analysis of data collected through a survey. The paper uses statistical analysis involving the measures of descriptive statistics (absolute and relative frequencies, means and respective standard deviations) and inferential statistics to examine the differences within an original dataset of 360 young people in Latvia. The results reveal several statistically significant gender differences. This research contributes to enriching literature and also adds value to studies on entrepreneurial perceptions divided by gender. Understanding the factors which shape entrepreneurship education, macrofactors and microfactors affecting young people's decisions and perceptions, education systems and public policies would allow adjusting and designing policies aiming to boost entrepreneurship education and enhance entrepreneurship as a career choice and balance it in a gender context.

This study aims to analyse the entrepreneurial intentions of students comparing Latvia and other Central and Eastern European countries. The investigation examines the impact of factors of micro and macro level as well as entrepreneurial education. The paper contains both qualitative and quantitative analysis including inferential and descriptive statis-tics to analyse the deviations inside the sample of 680 respondents from Latvia and other Eastern Euro-pean countries. The results reveal several statistically significant differences between students from Lat-via and other countries. Latvians emphasize seeking independence as a highly important motivational factor while valuing lower formal education, business training and business experience as the factors contributing to the success in entrepreneurship. Students from Latvia consider the regulatory framework for doing business to be a bigger obstacle to doing business than in other Central and Eastern European countries. This paper contributes to previous studies on entrepreneurial intentions in different geographical areas of Central and Eastern European countries where this type of research is lacking. Through identification of factors that impact entrepreneurial education, micro and macro factors influencing career decisions and intentions of young people it will be possible to improve systems of education and government policies to increase the efficiency of entrepreneurial education and to encourage entrepreneurship as a career choice.
