Abstract:We have proposed a nanoplasmonic optical switch comprising of metal-dielectric-metal subwavelength waveguide coupled to a nanostub. Switching mechanism and bistable behavior of the device is investigated at telecom wavelength. Different parameters have been defined for quantitative analysis of the bistable switch. Finally switching and bistability is calculated and compared for different stub heights at the operating wavelength of 1.55 μm.
