Optical Vortices Generation by Azopolymeric Relief Gratings

Abstract: The energy and spectral conditions for single-stage holographic recording of a diffraction optical element based on the carbazole-containing azo polymer, that forms singular light beams (optical vortices), have been established. With the atomic-force microscopy (AFM), the surface morphology of the recorded relief holograms was studying, and their diffraction efficiency has been estimated. The topology of the generated optical phase singularities has been studied and the stability range of an optical vortex hav… Show more

“…With microbeads restricted and neatly arranged in a layer of 3D space, a suspension array constrained by optical tweezers is able to overcome the poor efficiency of mass transfer of the 2D solid-phase plane and serve as an environment that is closer to the natural state for detection. 16 Various optical elements have been used to split a single laser beam into multiple ones, such as a space light modulator (SLM), 17 galvano mirrors (GMs), 18,19 acousto-optic deflector (AOD), 20 diffraction optical element (DOE), 21 etc. However, it is well known that the multitraps are generally produced only by a single beam splitter, of which the functions and advantages are relatively limited.…”

“…In the last decades the formation methods of particular light beams, including singular, helical, vector and the like, have been intensively studied by the leading scientists because the unique properties of these beams offer new potentialities for their application in laser processing of different materials, optical manipulation of bioand macroparticles (optical tweezers), high spatial resolution visualization of microobjects, cryptography, astronomical research, and so on [1][2][3][4][5][6].…”

“…To obtain singular light beams various technologies are used: optical plates with smoothly varying thickness, spatial LC light modulators, diffraction elements, etc. [6,[12][13][14][15]. Q-plates as optical elements with spatially structured anisotropy are a sphere of a great interest [16].…”
