Abstract:SummaryThis article extends the analysis of optimal control based on a generalized Hamiltonian which covers situations of nonconvexity. The approach offers several key advantages. First, by identifying a global solution to a constrained optimization problem, the generalized Hamiltonian approach solves the problem of distinguishing between a global optimum and the (possibly many) nonoptimal points satisfying the Pontryagyn principle under nonconvexity. Second, in our generalized approach, interpreting the slope… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
