Optimal spectrum and power allocation using evolutionary algorithms for cognitive radio networks

Abstract: Cognitive radio is a promising technology for efficient spectrum utilization. It explores dynamic spectrum access features while satisfying interference constraints. In this work, a joint power and spectrum allocation algorithm is proposed to maximize the cognitive network throughput while satisfying interference constraints of both primary and secondary users in the network. Evolutionary algorithms are used to solve the joint power and spectrum allocation problem. Furthermore, the algorithmic performance is c… Show more

“…This work has focused on achieving joint spectrum and power allocation in the CRNs. Multi-Objective Different Evolution (MODE) algorithm maximizes network capacity and compares with NSGA-II and MOPSO algorithms [9]. Ant Colony Optimization(ACO) algorithm is used to improve spectrum utility, and detection rate and reduce collision, detection rate, and reduced false alarm probability [10].…”

“…A power mixture technique for the allocation of spectra, increasing the through-put to a CRN and satisfying the interference constraints for both users is presented in [26]. The authors of [27] discuss resource assignment in terms of spectrum utilization and net-work throughput optimization.…”
