Optimal Water Resources Allocation in the Yinma River Basin in Jilin Province, China, Using Fuzzy Programming

Abstract: Being one of the most important sources of water in the Jilin Province in China, the Yinma River Basin (YRB) is facing problems of water scarcity in low economic areas and low utilization in richer areas mainly caused by the irrational allocation of water, excessive pursuit of economic benefits, and neglect of environmental problems. Restricting watershed development involves potential decision-making risks. Some scholars have used the interval two-stage stochastic planning method to adjust water resource allo… Show more

“…A large number of water conservancy engineering facilities have been built in the basin. By 2021, many various types of reservoirs have been built in the basin, including 18 large reservoirs, 123 medium-sized reservoirs, and 3828 small reservoirs [14].…”

“…Consequently, a large number of inexact optimization programming methods were developed for coping with uncertainties in water resources management, including Interval Programming (IP) [6][7][8][9][10], Chance-Constrained Programming (CCP) [11][12][13], Stochastic Programming (SP) [14,15], Fuzzy Mathematical Programming (FMP) [16,17], and Fuzzy Chance Constrained Programming (FCCP) [18,19]. IP can solve the uncertainties caused by parameters with a known range.…”
