Abstract: This dissertation is the end result of the input and help from many X people.Dr. James Dufty derived the models I used in the first chapter, and Dr. Karl Taylor verified the math. Linda Griffin helped a great deal with Chapter III, and weighed lots of fruit flies and fed lots of antlions. Steven Frank, Alan Grafen, and Dr. Eric Charnov were excellent sounding boards for some of my ideas on the theory of foraging behavior; Steve and Alan were also instrumental in teaching me all I know about statistical models.… Show more
