Optimization of on-chip micro-electromagnets for biomolecular separation

Abstract: This work deals with the design of on-chip planar electromagnets that will be introduced into a microfluidic device as part of a DNA extraction system. Different geometries of planar electromagnets have been designed, fabricated and tested using SQUID, and a comparison between their magnetic fields is made.
