Optimized and wavefront guided corneal refractive surgery using the Carl Zeiss Meditec platform: the WASCA aberrometer, CRS-Master, and MEL80 excimer laser
“…Efficacy of the surgery was good in the 3 evaluated groups, with 0.0logMAR (≈20/20) UDVA achieved in more than 90% of eyes. This is consistent with the results of previous series comparing the visual performance after LASIK surgery with different laser platforms using WFG and aspheric optimized ablation profiles (4, 14-21). The efficacy of LASIK treatment was found to be slightly better with the WFG ablation profile compared to the aspheric optimized ablation profile (WF-optimized LASIK).…”
All evaluated LASIK treatment protocols are predictable and effective for the correction of myopia. The treatment planned with a high resolution aberrometer obtained the best postoperative refractive outcomes.

“…[23][24][25][26][27][28] In addition, eye-tracker systems have been incorporated into new laser platforms for better control of fixation and to prevent the induction of coma-like aberrations. 29 Furthermore, software has been developed that calculates ablation profiles to treat different types of HOAs in complicated cases of keratorefractive surgery or in cases in which refractive surgery was performed using older ablation profiles.…”
Corneal wavefront-guided enhancements with the ORK-CAM system are a useful tool for the correction of the second order refractive errors and for the reduction of the corneal primary coma induced by previous keratorefractive procedures.
