Optimizing sensitivity to γ with B0DK+π ,

Abstract: Two of the most powerful methods currently used to determine the angle γ of the CKM Unitarity TriangleIt is possible to combine the strengths of both approaches in a "double Dalitz plot" analysis ofThe potential sensitivity of such an analysis is investigated in the light of recently published experimental information on the B 0 → DK þ π − decay. The formalism is also expanded, compared to previous discussions in the literature, to allow B 0 → DK þ π − with any subsequent D decay to be included.

“…This error at present prevents this observable from providing a stringent test of our framework. Such test will however be possible with improvements on fits to the unitarity triangle using only observables realistically unaffected by new physics, such as γ from B → DK ( * ) (see in particular [86][87][88]). This highlights the well-known importance of improvements in such 'standard-candle' measurements.…”

“…Since the Belle Collaboration's announcement [14], much work [24][25][26][27][28] has emerged for the twobody hadronic B decays involving D Ã 0 . By studying the three-body hadronic B meson decays involving D Ã 0 , one could provide the constraint on the unitary triangle [29][30][31][32] and probe the inner structure of the intermediate resonances. In Ref.…”
