Ordered Nanoporous Carbon-Based SPME and Determination by GC

Abstract: CMK-1 (carbon mesoporous from Korea) type ordered nanoporous carbon was investigated as a novel solid-phase microextraction fiber for the first time. The microextraction process was coupled with GC-FID and used to extract benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) from the head space of the solution samples. Prepared fibers featured advantages like easy and fast preparation, high thermal and mechanical stability in which a fiber could be used for more than 60 tests. Employing Taguchi method and orthogon… Show more

“…Among various carbon materials, the OMC has attracted considerable interest for this purpose. Thus, CMK-3 was chosen as the ideal candidate supports material, because it possesses large surface area, high chemical stability, uniform pore diameters accessible porosity and three-dimensional conducting network [27][28][29]. The present work reports the synthesis, the structural characterization and the hydrogen sorption properties of both the metal-organic framework MIL-101(Cr) and the modified material formed by generation of Pt/CMK-3 catalyst and Carbon Bridge in MIL-101.…”

“…Additionally, vigorous stirring could cause the contact of liquid sample and fiber. The variation of the fiber position [40] or the contact of liquid sample and fiber [41] are responsible for the decrease of extraction efficiency. Therefore, for the following experiments, the agitation rate was fixed at 900 rpm.…”

“…The aforementioned unique characteristics of OMC make it an ideal candidate to be used as SPME coating material. A few works have reported the preparation of OMC using SBA-15 or MCM-48 as the template and used as SPME coatings with good extraction efficiency [37][38][39]. However, to our knowledge, reports on characterization of these OMCs-based SPME coatings in terms of the property, morphology and extraction selectivity are very scarce, if any.…”
