Among the participants were psychiatrists who subsequently had a leading role in addressing the mental health consequences of disasters in their countries, including Y. Suzuki (who is currently coordinating mental health interventions in the prefecture of Sendai, Japan) and U. Niaz (who coordinated mental health efforts on the occasion of a recent disaster in Pakistan).…”
