“…In order to further confirm the assignments of these two peaks, the excitation spectrum ( Fig. 3(b)) of pure CaZrO 3 prepared by the same method as CaZrO 3 :Tm was measured, which also consists of two peaks located at the same position as CaZrO 3 that the band gap of CaZrO 3 was around 200 nm, which was consistent with the previously reported results (206 nm, about 6.1 eV) [20]. Furthermore, Kaneyoshi also found the similar peak in bulk CaZrO 3 [21].…”

“…The conventional blue phosphor BaMgAl 10 O 17 :Eu (BAM:Eu) is an important blue phosphor, which has been used widely as blue-color emitting phosphors and plasma display panel (PDP). But there are some related researches that indicated that BAM:Eu still has some drawbacks [3,4]. For example, BAM:Eu significantly loses the radiation efficiency, and simultaneously accompanies a color shift during the thermal treatment at the temperature of 450-550 1C [5,6].…”

“…Calcium magnesium silicate (CMS, CaMgSi 2 O 6 ) has been studied as a host for long-lasting phosphor and plasma display panels (PDPs) [9][10][11]. The Eu 2+ -doped CaMgSi 2 O 6 (CMS:Eu) is an efficient phosphor that emits blue light by the stimulation of ultraviolet or vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) [9].…”

“…Conventionally, the CMS phosphor was prepared by a solidstate route [11,13]. The luminescence intensity of CMS:Eu 2+ phosphor was reported to be affected by the Si quantity [13][14][15].…”

“…The other one is to substitute rare earth ion in BAM for reduction of the damage caused by VUV irradiation. In another way to solve this problem is to make a new blue phosphor [7][8][9]. Recently, Sr 3 Al 10 SiO 20 :Eu 2+ blue phosphor has been synthesized and studied the PL property under VUV excitation [10].…”
