Professional competencies to promote health in nursing and physical education undergraduate courses

Objectives: to recognize the competencies for health promotion and their magnitude of expression in undergraduate health education based on the analysis of the pedagogical projects of the courses and from the teaching perspective. Methods: research with a mixed approach, carried out at a public university. The data collected from the pedagogical projects of the Nursing and Physical Education courses and through interviews and application of a matrix of Competencies in Health Promotion with 31 professors of the referred courses were analyzed in the light of Competencies Health Promotion. Results: all competencies investigated were recognized in the curricula and reports of nursing professors, but the possibility of changes was not identified in the pedagogical project of Physical Education, although this competency was recognized as extremely important by the professors, with a mode of 4.5. Final Considerations: the training process in the courses studied has favored the development of skills for health promotion.

This research presents four studies that developed and validated the Organizational Climate Perception Scale for Public Service (OCPS-PS). The first qualitative study consulted the literature and conducted a focus group to develop the initial version of the scale. The second study involved expert evaluation and pre-testing, aiming at the semantic and face validation of the items. This study resulted in 80 items forming the thirteen dimensions of organizational climate. The third study obtained the first quantitative sample for the exploratory validation phase of the scale. The final study, using a new sample, conducted confirmatory tests for the validation of the scale. A methodology for applying the scale was developed, allowing all interested parties to use the OCPS-PS for the assessment of the organizational climate in public service. The results of the four conducted studies indicate the adequacy of the OCPS-PS according to the proposed criteria of validity and reliability. Finally, the OCPS-OS was built to be applied in different public organizations and at different government levels.

Objective: Its general objective is to analyze the behavioral types detected in employees of a construction company located in Araguaína-TO and how they can affect the quality of the services provided. Theoretical reference: A literature review was carried out from the perspective of evaluation performed through the DISC theory. In total there are four types: dominant, influential, stable and conforming. The main authors studied are: Idalberto Chiavenato; William Moulton Marston, DISC theory writer; in addition to Paulo Vieira and Deibson Silva, demonstrating the application of the DISC theory in an contemporary language. Methods: It was a case study, being an exploratory research in relation to the objectives, with tabulation of data through a table and graph, and having been configured as a qualitative research regarding the approach to the problem. Results and conclusions: Through behavioral assessment, with the DISC tool, assessing the predominant behavioral type on the part of each employee. Of the total number of employees who took part in the survey, it was found, through the online test, that 40% are influential, 20% stable, 40% dominant and 0% compliant. Implications of research: The research reveals that there was clarification regarding the ideal way to perform the analysis of behavioral types, which should be performed using the DISC tool. Originality/value: The study demonstrates that it is possible to identify behavioral trends in advance, which can be: conforming, stable, influential or dominant. For the time being, it is possible to identify aptitudes or inaptitudes for certain functions, strengths and transitions, enhancing the already existing qualities and focusing on the requirements that need to be met precisely.
