Abstract:Estuaries provide critical habitat, food, and refuge for juvenile fish. Elemental concentrations in otoliths can retrospectively identify estuarine nursery habitats that contribute disproportionately to adult populations, providing valuable information for fisheries and coastal ecosystems.
