Concerns and problems that are common in the context of the illness have been described elsewhere [6, 8, 14, 15]and in our study were handled from a cognitive problem-solving perspective: disclosure of serostatus, safer sex practices if sexually active, treatment compliance and adherence to medical controls, adverse effects such as lipodystrophy, isolation, lack of future plans and others.
