Outcomes of Open Bleb Revision After PreserFlo MicroShunt Failure in Patients With Glaucoma

Abstract: Précis: After the open bleb revision following PreserFlo, the mean postoperative intraocular pressure (IOP) was lowered from 26.4 ± 9.9 mm Hg to 12.9 ± 5.6 mm Hg at 1 month and 15.9 ± 4.1 mm Hg at 12 months. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an open bleb revision with mitomycin-C (MMC) for bleb fibrosis after PreserFlo MicroShunt implantation. “…PreserFlo more strongly reduces IOP than XEN [ 10 , 11 ], although its outcomes remain inferior to those of TLE [ 12 , 13 ]. However, PreserFlo might cause fewer postoperative complications than TLE [ 13 ], require a less steep surgical learning curve [ 14 , 15 ], and bridge the gap between microinvasive glaucoma surgery and traditional filtering surgery [ 16 ]. There are limited data on detailed changes in visual acuity and ocular biometry following PreserFlo implantation [ 17 , 18 ], as data have only been reported for up to one week [ 18 ] and three months after surgery [ 17 ].…”
