Abstract:We report on a fast flexible display of a deformed helix ferroelectric liquid crystal (DHFLC) in a homeotropic configuration. The cell gap stability of the flexible display was guaranteed by an array of columnar spacers, formed by the photolithography technique, on in-plane electrodes. In our DHFLC display, unique features of display performances such as flexibility, uniform alignment, fast response, and gray scale capability were obtained.
