This work reports a novel strategy to improve phosphorus resistance of a model Pd catalyst on alumina using CePO4 as an additive, and the mechanism of phosphorus poisoning over the catalyst for methane removal under operational conditions was systematically investigated. The results demonstrated that phosphorus poisoning at 800 °C caused both harsh physical and chemical modifications in the Pd catalyst without the CePO4 additive; that is, the conversion of support aluminum oxide into a multilayer cristobalite-type aluminum phosphate led to considerable change of the catalyst texture and structure and remarkable blocking of Pd-active sites. However, CePO4 acting as a barrier layer can effectively suppress the formation of the inactive aluminum phosphate and also hinder the accumulation of Pd nanoparticles. Owing to the nearly maintaining of Pd-active sites, the modified catalyst shows much better performance (i.e., a wider λ window and a lower light-off temperature) with respect to resistance to phosphorus poisoning and thereby retains its activity of methane conversion.

This article was the first to prepare CeZrNiOx ternary solid solution using CeZrNi BDC MOFs as a template, and investigate its effect on improving the dispersion stability of Pd components in three‐way catalysts and the catalytic performance of natural gas exhaust purification. The experimental results indicated that CeZrNiOx derived from CeZrNi‐BDC MOFs had a stable solid solution uniform structure and relatively good thermal stability of the porous structure. Therefore, the thermal stability of Pd/CZN‐M derived from CeZrNi BDC MOFs was significantly better than that of Pd/CZN‐C prepared by citric acid complexation method. The PdO particle size of Pd/CZN‐M before and after thermal aging was only about 2.0 and 4.5 nm, respectively. At GHSV50000 ml/(g·h), the T90 of aged Pd/CeZrNiOx for CH4, NO, and CO reached 410, 370, and 175 oC, respectively, showing better three‐way catalytic (TWC) activity than reported in existing literature. In addition, CeZeNiOx carriers derived from MOFs also enhanced the co‐activation ability of NO and CH4, and exhibited certain activity in the low‐temperature self‐decomposition reaction of NO, thus showing significant advantages in the TWC catalytic activity of NGVs. This work would provide a new method for preparing NGVs exhaust TWC catalysts with high dispersion stability.

The reductive amination of 1,6‐hexanediol with ammonia is one of the most promising green routes for synthesis of 1,6‐hexanediamine. Herein, we developed a phosphorous modified Ni catalyst of Ni‐P/Al2O3. It presented satisfactory improved selectivity to 1,6‐hexanediamine in the reductive amination of 1,6‐hexanediol compared to the Ni/Al2O3 catalyst. The phosphorous tended to interact with Al2O3 to form AlPOx species, induced Ni nanoparticle to be flatter, and the decrease of strong acid sites, the new‐formed Ni‐AlPOx‐Al2O3 interface and the flatter Ni nanoparticle were the key to switch the dominating product from hexamethyleneimine to 1,6‐hexanediamine. This work develops an efficient catalyst for production of 1,6‐hexanediamine from the reductive amination of 1,6‐hexanediol, and provides a point of view about designing selective non noble metal catalysts for producing primary diamines via reductive amination of diols.
