“…One of our patients showed erythematous nodules involving the face, and there is only one report of DM panniculitis causing ‘lipoatrophy’ on the face, but no biopsy was performed from these lesions. DM panniculitis seems to be associated with non‐aggressive forms of DM, because although all described patients had muscular weakness and inflammatory myopathy in the biopsy, only one patient developed panniculitis as the initial manifestation of DM with anti‐MDA5 antibody and rapid progressive interstitial pneumonia and only three cases of DM panniculitis were associated with neoplasms, including ovarian adenocarcinoma, parotid carcinoma and rhabdomyosarcoma . No neoplasm was detected in our patients neither before the diagnosis of DM nor during the follow‐up.…”

“…DM/CADM should be considered, particularly when intractable panniculitis is noted. Panniculitis and myositis have shown simultaneous improvement during treatments [ 14 , 15 ] and a parallel flare and remission. In the present case, although panniculitis disappeared by steroid and tacrolimus treatment and did not recur, muscle weakness recurred with an increase in CK and myoglobin levels.…”
