Parameters Analysis on Flexural Strength of Sisal Fibre Reinforced Mortar: the Effect of Fiber Length

Abstract: Sisal fibre is an environmentally degradable material, with a higher tensile strength, it is often used to improve the mechanical properties of cement-based composites. To investigate the influence of sisal fibre size on the mechanical strength of mortar, first, the sisal fibre fraction was kept constant (0.13 wt.%), several different lengths (0 to 40 mm) of sisal fibre were mixed into the mortar matrix, the flexural test results showed that the optimum sisal fibre length was 30 mm.
