Abstract:The Eddy Current Damper (ECD) is a velocity-based passive energy dissipation device that can be used for structural vibration control. This study aims to reveal the damper behavior and determine the optimal parameters of the ECDs applied to a suspension bridge suffering from bi-directional earthquakes. The influence of the bi-directional vibration interaction on the damping force is theoretically investigated. An optimization method is proposed combining the Sobol Sequence sampling method, the Coefficient of V… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
