“…The CIQ is objective and shows good reliability and validity (Corrigan and Demming, 1995;Seale et al, 2002;Willer et al, 1993Willer et al, , 1994Zhang et al, 2002). Sensitivity between individuals with a TBI versus other disabilities as well as typical adults have been well established (Corrigan and Demming, 1995;Cusick et al, 2000Cusick et al, , 2001Novack et al, 2000;Sander et al, 1997;Willer et al, 1993Willer et al, , 1994. Revised scoring procedures for the CIQ have been developed and validated, adding to the tool's strength (Kaplan, 2001;Sander et al, 1999).…”

“…Several studies have examined the agreement between the individual's and significant other's reporting on level of CI (Cusick et al, 2000(Cusick et al, , 2001Ocampo et al, 1997;Sander et al, 1997;Te pper et al, 1996). The CIQ has also been shown to have good proxy subject agreement, which increases the utility with individuals who are severely disabled due to a brain injury (Cusick et al, 2000(Cusick et al, , 2001Sander et al, 1997).…”

“…Inversely, two studies reported patients overestimated their deficits in certain cognition and participation (Cusick et al, 2000;Malec, 2004). Given these contrasting results from previous studies, it becomes apparent that there are many factors contributing to differences in patient and informant ratings in addition to self-awareness.…”

“…Furthermore, other psychometric studies using the CHART have reported reasonable results with different subjects (e.g. stroke survivors and people with traumatic brain injury) (Segal and Schall 1995;Cusick et al 2000). In Japan, the CHART-J has been applied for stroke survivors, and demonstrated good reliability as assessed by the results of test-retest.…”
