Passive Series-Parallel Compensator for Non-sinusoidal Power System

Abstract

Abstract.In this paper, a simple but clear method finding an L-C network satisfying reactances or susceptances at given frequencies is proposed. Applying this method to synthesizing series-parallel compensator, unity power factor can be obtained when frequency-dependent impedances of nonlinear load are given. A series-parallel compensator can also be used to isolate a load from a source with respect to harmonics.
