Pathological Seminal Plasma Proteins by Cellulose Acetate Electrophoresis

Abstract: Pathological seminal liquids were studied by using cellulose acetate electrophoresis as well as biochemical doses of proteins, acid phosphatases, reducing sugars, and zinc. It was also possible to show the frequent total absences of vesicular secretion, less frequent than prostatic secretion and less than the two at the same time. It was also shown that reductions were more frequent in prostatic secretion than in vesicular secretion. This method may also be a valuable assistance in the diagnosis of certain uro… Show more

“…The first problem in studying vesicular secretion is to obtain pure samples. Several methods can be envisaged for this: puncture of seminal vesicles removed by surgery, use of the technique of split ejaculation in which the secretion of different adnexal glands may be separated, and lastly, study of ,,incomplete" seminal fluid in which the secretion of one type of adnexal gland is considerably reduced or absent (Clavert et al, 1981).…”

“…Lyon, France). The tech nics and methods used for measurement have been described in a previous study [6], For the patients with a chronic infection of the urogenital tract, a study of the seminal plasma with measurement of the prostatic acid phosphatases, fructose and total proteins was carried out [9], The statistical analysis of the results was made by Student's t test.…”
