Abstract. Beds management is a complex problem in hospital centers. Many proposed models are based on reducing hospitalization cost and optimizing the use of resources. In this paper, a new model for bed planning is presented. This model takes into account the capacity of beds shared between two types of patients: scheduled and non-scheduled patients. Otherwise, the model manages also preventive maintenance actions during the planning horizon.

A logística hospitalar apresenta-se como um conjunto de operações complexas e relevantes para as organizações hospitalares, visto que uma falha na distribuição dos materiais e medicamentos, uma das funções da logística, pode acarretar um desastre irreparável tanto para os pacientes quanto para o hospital. Apesar disso, as organizações de saúde geralmente subestimam a participação e a contribuição prática da logística no ambiente hospitalar. Ao levar a discussão para o campo da literatura, notou-se que não há um consenso conceitual e de quais são as atividades pertencentes ao escopo da logística hospitalar. Nesse sentido, os objetivos gerais deste trabalho são apresentar as distintas abordagens conceituais da logística hospitalar presentes na literatura e descrever suas atividades, mediante uma revisão sistemática da bibliografia. Seguindo um protocolo de Revisão Bibliográfica Sistemática (RBS), foram levantados preliminarmente 1891 artigos em seis bases de periódicos Pubmed, Embase, Lilacs, Cinahl, Web of Science e Scopus publicados entre 1992 e 2013. Ao final os 25 artigos filtrados dentro dos critérios dessa revisão comprovaram a divergência conceitual da logística hospitalar, pois alguns autores a definem como gestora do fluxo de pacientes, enquanto outros a conceituam como gestora do fluxo de materiais. Já em relação às atividades que compõem o escopo da logística hospitalar, também foi constatada uma incongruência, visto que há uma variedade de atividades descritas como logística, desde as tradicionais, presentes na literatura de logística industrial, até outras atividades, que envolvem áreas específicas do hospital.Palavras-chave: Logística Hospitalar; Revisão Bibliográfica Sistemática. COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF HOSPITAL LOGISTICS: CONCEPTS AND ACTIVITIES ABSTRACTThe hospital logistics is a set of complex and important operations for the hospital organizations. Since this, a small fail in a logistic activity, like material and medicines distribution, could generate irreversible mistakes to patients and even to the hospital. Despite of this, health organizations generally don`t look at logistics` practical contributions with the required importance. When the discussion goes to literature field, it could be perceived that there is not a conceptual consensus and also what activities are parts of hospital logistics scope. In this context, the main goals of this manuscript are show the different conceptual approaches of hospital logistics in the literature and describe its activities, by a systematic literature review. Following a Systematic Bibliographical Review (SBR) protocol, 1891 articles were found into six databases Pubmed, Embase, Lilacs, Cinahl, Web of Science e Scopus published between 1992 and 2013. The paper presents a hierarchical framework for production control of hospitals which deals with the balance between service and eae ciency, at all levels of planning and control. The framework is based on an analysis of the design requirements for hospital production control systems. These design requirements are translated into the control functions at diå erent levels of planning required for hospital production control. The framework consists of ® ve levels of planning and control: patient planning and control, patient group planning and control, resources planning and control, patient volumes planning and control and strategic planning, though this last level does not make part of production control as such. Each of the levels of the framework is further elaborated in terms of the decisions made regarding patient¯ows and resources, and the co-ordination of the diå erent planning levels. Implications of the framework are discussed by describing some points where current practice deviates from assumptions made in our approach. Recommendations for future research and development of the planning framework are formulated.
