RESUMO Objetivo Avaliar a percepção da equipe de enfermagem frente ao clima de segurança que permeia a assistência entre profissionais de instituições públicas e privadas. Método Estudo quantitativo, transversal, desenvolvido com 235 profissionais de enfermagem de um hospital privado e um público, da região de Campinas, entre outubro de 2014 e outubro de 2015. Para a coleta foi utilizado o Questionário Atitudes de Segurança – Short Form. Na análise, foram utilizadas estatísticas descritivas e inferenciais, com realização do teste de Mann Whitney, para comparar as instituições. Resultados A instituição privada apresentou médias superiores às da pública, com diferenças significantes nos domínios clima de segurança (p=0,00), gestão da unidade (p<0,0001), gestão do hospital (p<0,0001), condições de trabalho (p<0,0001) e trabalho em equipe (p=0,00). Conclusão Apesar da instituição privada ter demonstrado melhor desempenho, o clima de segurança percebido pelos profissionais foi considerado insatisfatório em ambas as instituições.

Objective: to analyze safety attitudes according to nursing professionals. Method: this is a quantitative, crosssectional, descriptive study, with nurses, nursing technicians and assistants, using a questionnaire for characterization of professionals and the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire -Short Form 2006 (SAQ). The analysis of the results occurred through descriptive analysis, and the analysis of the SAQ considered positive values for patient safety when the score was greater than or equal to 75. Data were processed thourhg Microsoft Excel. Results: the total score average achieved 57.51 points, configuring it as low-safety atmosphere; the field "job satisfaction" presented the highest score, with 74.39 points, and the lowest score (39.98) belongs to the domain "management perception". Conclusion: the study participants did not analyze positively the safety attitudes outside the assistance to the patient and such findings should contribute to the planning of actions that encourage improvements related to safety attitudes. Resultados: obteve-se, pelo escore total, a média de 57,51 pontos, configurando-se como um clima de segurança baixo; o domínio "satisfação no trabalho" apresentou o maior escore, com 74,39 pontos, e o menor escore (39,98) pertence ao domínio "percepção da gestão". Conclusão: percebeu-se que os participantes da pesquisa não analisaram positivamente as atitudes de segurança frente à assistência ao paciente e tais achados devem contribuir no planejamento de ações que incentivem melhorias relacionadas às atitudes de segurança. Nurses' perception regarding patient safety climate and quality of health care in general hospitals in Japan

Aim To clarify perceptions of nurses towards patient safety climate and quality of health care in Japan. Background Nurses' perceptions of patient safety climate and quality of health care services are not well‐known. Method The survey was conducted at general hospitals with 200 beds or more using the Patient Safety Climate Scale and the Modified multiple‐item scale for consumer perceptions of health care service quality. Results Significant positive correlations were found among nurses’ perception towards patient safety and health care service quality. The experience of nurses as members of the committee on patient safety and their employment position did not show any significant difference in the perception towards patient safety and health care services quality. Perceptions of health care service quality were lower among those with 6– to 10‐year experience than with over 21 years. Conclusion In the perception of nurses and nurse managers’ continuous improvement, perceptions towards patient safety were related to reliability, assurance, responsiveness and empathy in health care service quality. Implications for Nursing Management Generalist nurses with 21 years or more experiences in multiple departments showed high perception towards health care service quality. Experienced nurses’ perceptions of activities to improve patient safety and quality of health care services are important.
