Pattern synthesis for multi‐layered perforated dielectric superstrate loaded patch antenna with equal E / H beamwidth

Abstract: The pattern synthesis based on the spectral Green's functions for multi‐layered perforated dielectric loaded patch antenna is presented. It is conducted by optimising the dielectric superstrate parameters, i.e. relative permittivity (εr) and thickness. To solve the problem of the optimised εr unavailable from market, perforated dielectric superstrate (PDS) is utilised. The equivalence between PDS and homogeneous dielectric superstrate (HDS) in spectral domain is investigated and the effective relative permitti… Show more

“…Suitable numerical methods and new prototypes of radiating patch elements have been therefore developed and designed. [18][19][20] In this work, a duo triangle-shaped microstrip-fed patch antenna or split-patch antenna (SPA) is first designed to improve the impedance matching of the conventional RMPA within the 2.0-to 2.8-GHz frequency band. [5][6][7][8][9] Liu et al proposed a low profile with a broad impedance bandwidth, a good impedance matching by the introduction of a pair of small circular disks below the radiating patch for a differential-fed microstrip patch antenna.…”

“…16 A multiband meta-material loaded microstrip patch antenna is designed in Kumar et al 17 By increasing the relative dielectric constant of the substrate or meta-materials substrate/superstrate loading, output performances of the studied antennas can be improved. [18][19][20] In this work, a duo triangle-shaped microstrip-fed patch antenna or split-patch antenna (SPA) is first designed to improve the impedance matching of the conventional RMPA within the 2.0-to 2.8-GHz frequency band. In order to enhance the bandwidth of the conventional RMPA and SPA, significant attention is given to the monopole and split- monopole antennas, numerically designed using simulations and calculation methods developed in this work.…”
