Paving the path to better understanding T-cell lymphomas: The importance of lymphoma registries

Abstract: Despite progresses in the field of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, therapy responses and outcomes remain poor for patients with T-cell lymphoma (TCL), especially for those with relapsed and refractory disease [ 1 , 2 ]. Factors such as marked disease heterogeneity, paucity of cases, and a distinct geographic distribution have limited the field's ability to make substantive and innovative advances. Perhaps, the most significant challenge is the absence of TCL-specific regimens, with CHOP-like chemotherapy (cyclophosphami… Show more

“…T cell lymphomas (TCL) contains a group of heterogeneous non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) with T cell origins. Therapy responses and outcomes remain poor for patients with TCL due to the absence of TCL-specific regimens ( 1 , 2 ). In addition, TCL is highly heterogenous and contains over 40 subtypes according to 2022 WHO classification ( 3 ), making the diagnosis and treatment more challenging.…”
