“…SEM images of MgO@PdCu in different magnifications.EDS mapping images of the material MgO@PdCu was also studied(Figure 1, ESI).It can be seen that both Pd and Cu are mostly distributed evenly throughout each PdCu species, suggesting an alloy structure[111][112][113]. Furthermore, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis of MgO@PdCu confirmed the presence of Pd, Cu, Mg and N species(Figure 2, ESI).In order to investigate the oxidation states of Pd and Cu in the solid support, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) of the MgO@PdCu was performed (Figure 5).…”

“…After alloying, the bifunctional mechanism/effect of Pd and Cu removes the reaction intermediates which are unavoidably produced that contains mainly CO ads . The presence of Cu in the alloy may quicken the oxidation of intermediates, and therefore, for the oxidation of intermediate CO, Cu is more dynamic compared to Pd …”

“…As a simple and feasible strategy, introducing other metals to construct bimetallic alloy can cut the cost‐consumption simultaneously modify the electronic structure of Pd, in favor of promoting their electrocatalytic activity . Among multifarious bimetallic alloys reported previously, PdCu alloy have drawn considerable attention on account of the advantages of Cu such as sufficient reserves and low price . For instance, the bimetallic Pd 4 Cu 1 nanosheets alloy reported by Fan's group display higher electrocatalytic activity and resistance toward CO‐poisoning than monometallic Pd nanosheets.…”
