Pemanfaatan Sensor Curah Hujan Dan Debit Air Sungai Untuk Monitoring Banjir Berbasis Internet of Things

Abstract

The impact of the flood disaster in Indonesia has caused a lot of losses both morally and materially. Losses are caused by a lack of mitigation of floods that will occur, one of the mitigation efforts can be done by knowing information on rainfall and river water discharge in real-time. Currently, in several areas, there are many rainfall monitoring posts owned by BMKG but they are still limited, besides that the monitoring posts are still uneven and the community cannot install them independently because the current rainfall monitoring equipment still has a high price. This research builds an internet of a things-based system that can be a solution for mitigation efforts, the system is equipped with rainfall and river water discharge sensors whose job is to retrieve the latest data to be sent via a server and processed into information that can be accessed by the public. Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM) is the method used in this study, DSRM has concrete steps to complete research based on new knowledge, new technology, or the development of both. This study utilizes rainfall sensors and river water discharge which are regulated by the Arduino uno and ESP822 microcontrollers, the process of sending data from the sensing sensors used uses Arduino serial communication with ESP8266 to be forwarded and stored on a database server. From the tests that have been carried out, this system can be used in river basins and can be used as a solution for flood disaster mitigation efforts for river basin communities.
