“…There is no solid environment known without strong perturbations by hyperfine interactions in the 482 keV state. The first measurement of the 133keVT-482keVe~ angular correlation was reported by Grabowski et al [5]. These authors evaporated a solution of HfQ in HNO3 from a tungsten strip in vacuum onto a thin aluminium foil.…”

“…77(0), three Ge(Li) system 6 anomalous conversion is present. In 1961 Gerholm et al [4] reported anomalies in conversion electrongamma correlations and since then a series of investigations has been performed [5][6][7][8]. Absolute measurements of conversion electrongamma angular correlations always involve the problem of corrections for electron scattering in the source material, for possible attenuations by hyperfine interactions in the solid environments and for the effective solid angle of the electron spectrometer.…”
By 7-e/~ and e~-7 TDPAC measurements with the 133 keV~82 keV cascade of 181Ta in a polycrystalline beryllium matrix the A2(e~)-coefficient of the 482 keV transition was determined as:A2 (482 e{) = -0.095 _+0.015. The theoretical value is 6.0 times larger. A remeasurement of the E2/M1 mixing ratio of the same transition by integral 7-7 angular correlation measurements with a system of three 20 ccm Ge(Li)-detectors gave the result: 8(482) = 4.96 __ 0.25. The e/ccoefficient was redetermined as: eK(482) = 0.0246 -t-0.0018. From these data the penetration parameter: 2=157_+11 is derived and compared with previously published values and theoretical estimates.
